As well as it’s intended use, I like the idea of a slightly cut down TV2 STB for home.
‘Just’ needs support for infrastructure wifi – maybe via first run, ad-hoc network, config process? App?!?! then HDMI to 50″ – Airplay audio & video!… sat on the sofa browsing – Airplay over the iPad2 or 4s video mirroring at the same time. Cool. Ideal for folks who don’t do, or can’t get access to, Apple’s iTunes content on TV due to cost or global region etc.

I thought I should just check my facts… if I’m seeing this right (It’s late here!) –
According to this wikipedia page, only 6 regions, some of them admittedly large, have stores that allow access to TV shows. I never realised it was so few. This goes to show that such a box could sell to people who cannot get full use from many of the features of an AppleTV2, but desire the idea of video airplay.
Just a thought.
