CasaTunes 4.0 adds support for Apple AirPlay

CasaTunes, a designer of intelligent multiroom music servers, now supports Apple AirPlay with the release of its new CasaTunes version 4.0 upgrade.

With CasaTunes Air, you can use your CasaTunes server to integrate your existing wired and wireless systems, and stream your tunes via AirPlay to any or all of your speakers, all over your house. But of course, that doesn’t mean you can’t be selective; CasaTunes Air can receive and distribute AirPlay signals from multiple devices simultaneously (so you can use your iPhone to zone out to Sigur Rós on the deck while your roommate streams TED Talks from an iPad in the TV room).

Intended as a seamless retrofit solution, the CasaTunes Air-equipped server is ideal for those of us who already ran wires through our walls and floors, and only later added wireless speakers for that hard to reach patio or second bathroom. Music is streamed in high quality (Apple Lossless) audio, so it should sound great either way. And as always, you can stream tunes from a selection of online music services such as Spotify, Rhapsody and Pandora. You can control your tunes via an Apple iOS device, iTunes, Android phone or using the optional wall-mounted keypad available from CasaTunes.

CasaTunes version 4.0 is available now. For more information, visit CasaTunes.com.
