Wondering if i’m streaming video to my appletv is my only option to plug a cable into this system?.
Or is it smart enough to catch on to the stream?

You’ll need to plug a cable into it.

If it’s an Airplay enabled speaker, no, you won’t need to plug an Apple TV into it. That’s the point.

If you want video you need Apple TV; Just audio, then airplay speakers will work.
