Pioneer Music Tap AirPlay Systems

Pioneer Music Tap

Pioneer unleashed two new products to their always growing line of AirPlay compatible products, the Pioneer and Elite branded Music Tap systems.

Both systems feature built in Wi-Fi allowing wireless streaming via AirPlay, DLNA and vTuner Internet radio. There is a 2.5 inch colour LCD to display artist and album info or you can connect the system to an external TV or monitor. Sound flows through a 2-channel digital amp to dual full range drivers nestled inside a passive radiator enclosure.

You can control the systems via Pioneer’s Air Jam app, included remote or through the optional neural link*.

The Elite model features bluetooth and fine tuning by Pioneer’s TAD director of speaker engineering, Andrew Jones.

Both models have an auxiliary input, headphone jack and USB port. The USB port allows you to connect a USB device like a hard drive, thumb drive or flash drive to access MP3, WAV, WMA, AAC, LPCM and FLAC files.

Expected release date is October 2011.

Price is $399 and $479 for the Elite model.

*there is no such thing to control the Music Tap system… yet.
