   They look amazing! Good thing the docking station is not attached to the speakers (like Zep). Really looking forward trying these out.

   Way to go Philips. Never understood systems with fixed docking like zeppelin (like the sound) and beosound 8.

      @Yap: You obviously haven’t heard these. They sound amazing! Real high-end sound, believe me.
      AFAIK Philips does have a track record of sounding good as long as you buy their high end range, not the cheap stuff.

         For these types of systems, the high end goes to Meridian. These other sub-$1,000 are mid fi. Sub-$250 are lo-fi. But for this price range, there are the B&W Zeppelins, Arcam rCube (which are supposed to be real nice), Focal Bird (2+1), and maybe a few others I’m not mentioning. I heard the rCube’s are real nice, plus they run on batteries. But for for audiophiles, the Meridian M80, which is supposed to be getting an update (with AirPlay from what the rumor mill is talking about) is the top brand for those that care about sound quality.

   My plan was to get this set up, but ended up with the Zeppelin Air – which i dont regret as the sound is fantastic. Sorry, but this was just too much for what i could see on officer. Shame. May be next time!

   Hello! Please. Can someone say me how long is the cable that connect both speakers? I have read that only i can use this cable. I want to know how much can i separate the speakers to put them in the corners of my bedroom. Thanks a lot an sorry for my english

   Just bought them last week and they sound GREAT! I reviewed them on Amazon

   These Speakers are simply fantastic. Audiophiles with undoubtable find something to criticize, but for their size and price these speakers really have remarkable presence and dynamic range. I have them in a large living room and they are just excellent.

   Setting them up was much easier that I thought using Airplay. I have a sync button on my router which speeds up the process quite a bit. 1. Hit the sync button on router 2. Hit sync button on speaker. 3. Hit Airplay button on iPad (Music Icon) and select the speakers. That was it.

   Streaming Pandora One works very well. I changed the Pandora setting to stream higher quality. I am using a 1st Gen iPad and iPhone 4s. Volume works by using the physical volume controls.

   The only flaw so far is the included remote which doesn’t work unless you are very close, but you don’t need it since you can control everything from your mobile device. The included docking station is elegant and charges your iPad/Phone (it doesn’t have a physical connection, but you don’t need one).

   I am very impressed. After doing quite a bit of research, I was going to by the Klipsch G-17 Air’s but they delayed the ship date. I am really glad, because it is going to be hard to beat the sound on these. I was a bit hesitant because Philips does not specialize in Audio. I have to hand it to them, they did a first rate job with these speakers.

   I was also a bit concerned about Airplay being glitchy, but the Philips speakers has it working flawlessly. These speakers are the way it should be! I control all my music around the house using my iPhone!

   I will definitely buy another pair and would recommend them.

   I also bought the DS3881 SoundRing for the bathroom. It is rechargeable so you can bring it around with you in the smaller rooms. I hope they work as well as these. “

   I have been using the Philips Airplay Philips DS9800W/37 for a few days now and they are full of glitches. You cant update firmware as regardless of the browser type it crashes when you select update. Also if you are using your PC/MAC to play, then try to go to your iPhone it wont work. You have to reset the whole system and start again. The airplay feature drops out unexpectedly and then a few minutes later kicks back in. The connection via WPS is easy enough but range is also any issue if you go more than a few rooms away. The sound (when working) is really very good. The connectivity issues and multitasking or swapping between devices and using any browser to update is quite frankly amateur and not worth the effort. 3 out 10. (by the way dont expect Philips to bother to reply to your requests for help, they are too busy and important).
